If you have any neurological disorder then, physical therapy is the best solution for you. When we refer to the term neurological disorders then we mean a different condition which affects the central nervous system.
A neurological condition can be a damage to the peripheral or central nervous system which affects any part of the body. In this category belong neurological conditions, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease as well as injuries to peripheral nerves, skull (craniocerebral) and brachial plexus.
The physical therapists that the FisioCenter has, are trained from the head of the clinic Dr. Andrea Settembrini who is licensed in physiotherapy and is specialized in OSCE – Osteopathic Spine Center Education in Bologna as well as he is the only one certified in Sciences and Techniques of Preventive and Adapted Motor Activities at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Our staff is trained and specialized in the treatment of patients who suffer from neurological disorders.
With physiotherapy sessions in FisioCenter you can alleviate the symptoms of any neurological disorders in order to reduce any movement difficulties and move freely.

The teuro-therapy is a kind of treatment with noninvasive techniques. It analyzes brain activity which helps to discover ways to improve any kind of neurological disorder. In neuro-therapy, we use an Electroencephalogram (EEG) in order to measure brain activity and also create “brain maps”.
A physical therapist works together with a neurological therapist for the sake of creating the best treatment plan for each patient.
A neuro therapist determines any areas that need work, while on the other side, a physical therapist helps with the improvement of those areas. If you want to improve your function, perform targeted activities or even regain your independence in a quick manner – then you should participate in treatments of physical therapy which follow a neurological injury.
Licensed in Physiotherapy, specialized in OSCE (Osteopathic spine center education) for Osteopathy (5 years) in Bologna and certified in Movement Sciences in Rome, Italy.
A stroke happens when the blood flow to the brain is significantly reduced or stopped abruptly. The FisioCenter can help you relieve the effects caused by a stroke. This can happen by working in order to improve your balance, walking as well as by using any assistive devices.
Some usual therapies for post-stroke rehabilitation are:
– constraint-induced movement therapy.
– functional electrical stimulation.
– motor image.
– partial body weight support.
– neuro therapy techniques – e.g., biofeedback.
Some of the most usual symptoms of multiple sclerosis include fatigue, pain, mobility problems, vision problems, muscle spasms, stiffness and weakness. If you are looking for a way that will help you manage and decrease any of those symptoms, then physical therapy is the right decision.
The physical therapists that our clinic has, will help you and provide you stretches in order to ease any muscle spasms as well as targeted exercises that will increase your strength and your range of motion.
There also exist many work activities that can help you with your balance and movement.
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, associated with dysfunction or loss of dopaminergic neurons in the brain, lack of dopamine, and the formation of abnormal Lewy Bodies protein particles in neurons. It is an idiopathic disease of the nervous system, characterized by movement and non-movement manifestations.
Slurred speech, irregular facial expressions, and severe tremors – are some of the most common symptoms that Parkinson’s disease includes.
Physiotherapy can help you improve those symptoms or even slow down the process of Parkinson’s Disease. Flexibility and strengthening can be also improved.
The peripheral nerves can be damaged in many different ways. For example, from an accident, a fall, crush, cut nerves and so on. Fortunately, physical therapy helps with the treatment and alleviation of the physical symptoms that peripheral nerve injuries have. Those symptoms include stiffness, inflammation and soreness associated with nerve pain.

Ischemic stroke can either be thrombotic or embolic. In a thrombotic stroke, a blood clot forms inside an artery in the brain, just as in an acute myocardial infarction with the arteries of the heart. The clot usually is formed in an area of the blood vessel with atherosclerosis plaques formed by fat deposits.
In the embolic episode, the blood clot “travels” through the bloodstream and ends up occluding the lumen of the blood vessel. The origin is usually from the heart, for example in atrial fibrillation.
Whether it is a thrombotic or an embolic, the result is the same: the brain is deprived of blood, and therefore of oxygen and other nutrients. This causes necrosis of that area of the brain that corresponds to the blocked vessel. This area does not work properly, resulting in the corresponding neurological deficit, for example weakness in the arms or legs, difficulty speaking, decreased vision, etc. If the area of the brain is large, then the swelling presses all over the brain and the patient loses consciousness (falls into a coma) with a clear danger to his life.
A transient ischemic attack has exactly the same symptoms as a typical stroke, the only difference is that the symptoms depart on their own (without any treatment) in just a few minutes. It’s like a “warning” stroke.
This can be seen as a threat, but also as an opportunity. Threat because 1/3 of patients with a transient stroke will eventually develop a permanent stroke later. Opportunity, because if the correct preventive treatment is applied, the possibility of disease is reduced.
