Important Information and questions

What is a Sport Injury?

A sport injury can happen during a physical exercise or when participating in a sport. Children are particularly vulnerable to these kinds of injuries. However, adults can have the same injuries as well.

You are more likely to experience a sport injury, if:

  • You do not exercise on a regular basis.
  • You do not warm up when you exercise.
  • Participate in contact sports or team sports.

Some of the Sport Injuries are as below:

ACL Injuries.

Meniscus Rupture.

Pes anserinus.

Patellofemoral Syndrome.

Tendinitis.

Pubalgia.

Sprains.

Fracture.

Shoulder and Elbow Dislocation.

Epicondylitis.

Bursitis.

Epitrocleitis.

Types of Sport Injuries.

Different sport injuries can cause dissimilar symptoms and complications. The most common types of sport injuries, are:

Muscle (fatigue) fractures.

If your muscles become fatigued or even overloaded as well as if you cannot absorb the stress and shock of a repeated impact, then you might have a muscle fracture.

Tendonitis.

If you repeat the same particular movement over a period of time, then you might cause tendonitis.

Septic bursitis.

A repetitive motion can commonly cause the condition called bursitis.

Enthesopathies.

The overuse of exceptionally repetitive movements, such as running, can be the cause of enthesopathies.

Sprains.

If you have overextended or tore a ligament while you severely stressed a joint, it can result in a sprain.

Shoulder or elbow dislocations.

When you force your bones in the shoulder or elbow joint out of alignment, that leads to a dislocation.

Stress fractures.

A stress fracture is a tiny crack caused in a bone. This kind of fracture is caused because of a repetitive force, often from an overuse.

Injuries-ruptures of menisci-cruciate ligaments-knee ligaments.

The ACL happens as a result of cutting or pivoting maneuvers.

Tear of myotendinous junction.

The tear of myotendinous junction usually happens from repetitive stress or a normal aging.

Epicondylitis.

Epicondylitis is commonly caused due to the overuse of the elbow and the involved tendons during a sport or physical exercise.

Thorns.

It is caused from arthritis which comes as a result of a plant thorn which penetrates a joint.

Patellofemoral syndrome.

We do not have a certain factor that causes patellofemoral syndrome. However, this syndrome might have to do with the overuse – because running or jumping in sports can cause irritation under your kneecap.

Fracture.

A bone fracture can be a cause of fall, injury or from a direct hit or kick to the body.

What is Sport Injury rehabilitation?

The rehabilitation of sport injuries is a complicated phase, when compared with the rehabilitation of non-athletes. The FisioCenter has the appropriate knowledge and the essential equipment for the realization of the sport injury rehabilitation.

The sport injuries usually are cured within 72 hours. The third day after the complement of your therapy, the pain, swelling and the bruises will probably start to subside. Once your swelling has been decreased, then you can start exchanging heat with ice. Both heat and ice can help and relieve pain as well as many personal trainers recommend alternating them every few hours.

When your swelling is reduced, then you can also remove the compression bandage and start doing relaxing physical exercises, in the injured part. When the time passes, you will notice that the range of motion is increasing more and more every day.

If you immobilize during your sports injury for a long period of time, then you might cause stiffness and loss of endurance to your body.

The last stage of the sport injury rehabilitation is completed when the patient has reached the level he was before the injury. That means that you can perform specific tests that are designed on your sport or physical, which will show to the clinic that treats you, if there is any difference.

What are the benefits of Sport Injury rehabilitation?

  • Simple to practice.
  • It is completed with little to no equipment.
  • It can be incorporated into the team’s regular training, 2-3 times per week.

  • Reduce the risk of injury.
  • They can improve performance.
  • It may only take 10-20 minutes of regular exercise.
